Detailed are structural design models plus construction photographs of the re-development of buildings 1 & 2 at Weaste bus depot in Salford, to provide around 250 individual apartments.
The design has been completed using the latest 3 dimensional frame analysis programs to provide the client with the considerable benefit of fast-track design leading to highly economical construction.
The programming can be adapted to compare alternative designs in differing materials,
particularly steel &
reinforced concrete.

Foundation design

Carley Daines & Partners were requested by Countryside Properties to provide a foundation solution for the construction of a
reinforced concrete frame & panel building on deeply filled ground in St Helens that had the additional complication of being affected by shallow coal mine workings.
Following consolidation by grouting of the workings, a pile &
reinforced concrete ground beam arrangement was adopted to provide support to the building.
Again, the latest 3 D frame analysis software was employed to design & detail the layout shown.

General design
The practice also utilises the latest software to enable fast economical designs to be produced for all aspects of
civil & structural engineering design, again leading to the major client benefit of economical design.
